PERFORMANCE

Located on the grounds of Lakemary's Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), educational and support services are provided year-round for students during 4 nine week periods and a 6 week summer school session, providing individualized supports for each child per educational objectives.

ADMISSION

Day Students: When a parent or guardian would like their child to attend Lakemary School as a day student, contact should first be made with the home school's administrators. When they have determined that a formal referral is desired, documentation such as the current IEP and psychological testing shall be considered by Lakemary School before the child will be accepted.

Residential Students: All children in Lakemary's Psychiatric Residential Treatment (PRTF) & Intensive Behavioral Supports (IBS) programs attend Lakemary School as a part of their overall education plan.

FROM A PARENT'S PERSPECTIVE

"As a parent of a child attending school at Lakemary Center, I have found their services to be invaluable in preparing him for his future as an adult in his community. Ben has the opportunity to develop and improve skills necessary to increase his independence in many areas, including self-care, mobility and communication. He likes coming to school and I am assured that he is learning in a safe environment that looks at his current and future needs in order to be an active participant in his daily routine. Lakemary provides Ben with excellent teachers who are well trained to meet those needs. He also has support staff that assist and encourage him to be the best that he can be and push him to go just a little farther each time. My husband and I will always be grateful to everyone at Lakemary for everything they have done for Ben."
