Lakemary School
“A Chance To Achieve – An Opportunity To Succeed”
Our school offers special needs children in grades K-12 the chance to blossom and explore the world. Through supportive learning and the experience of accomplishment, these students develop the self-esteem and skills that allow them to reach beyond their disabilities and follow their dreams.
Programs Personalized To Each Child's Needs
Each personalized education program at LAKEMARY School is designed to meet the specific needs of children with intellectual disabilities, behavior disorders, and other developmental disabilities, including autism and severe multiple disabilities.
The LAKEMARY School employs a talented, caring team of 65 childhood behavior management specialists working together to develop the skills and strengths of approximately 85 students. Supporting our teaching staff is a full array of related service providers, including occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, social work/counseling, psychology, adaptive physical education, nursing, horticulture and vocational training. In addition, LAKEMARY provides consulting services in psychiatry, physical therapy, neurology and audiology support programs based on individual student needs.
For students who also take advantage of LAKEMARY CENTER's Residential Treatment Program, a comprehensive and consistent plan of treatment is delivered 24 hours a day.
Focused On The Future
Instruction at LAKEMARY School focuses on the skills and stability students will need to transition into their home communities, whether that involves a return to their home school, or into the adult world after graduation.
This goal is pursued through community-based instruction, independent skills training, academic training, pre-academic instruction and therapy.
